Healdsburg

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

For our weekly trip we decided to head over to Healdsburg to see what the fuss is about.  Heeheehee.  We walked around downtown, ate some delicious Fro-Yo (frozen yogurt), and shopped at the candy store.  Sorry for not calling, Patrick & Audrey.  I shot the vineyard fans while we were driving.  Actually, the only picture that’s in Healdsburg is the yogurt. Hahaha.

This ‘weekend’ we decided to get over to the Muir Woods in Marin and do some hiking.  For those of you who don’t know where that is, here’s a map.

Anyone else notice a crazy/beautiful night last night.  You don’t see that every night.

Sprinklers

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

After nearly letting our lawn die a few times, we finally decided it might be time to install some auto-sprinklers.  So sometime soon there will be ditches galore in the lawn.  But first things first – A PLAN!  Here’s what I came up with:  our front yard is 24 ft deep by 30 ft wide.  So I played around with a few layouts and decided on this one.  It will utilize 15′ throw sprinkler heads by the street and by the house, and 12′ throw sprinklers on the opposite sides.  We have two electronic valves, so I figure it might be smart to alternate watering every other day.  One day the house/street sprinklers will run, the next day the side/side sprinklers will run.

Harvesting & Planting

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Today we had to thoroughly harvest the garden.  A ton of tomatoes were ripe, as well as some peppers, cucumbers, and herbs.

We also finally planted some succulents in the urn we got from Ikea months ago.  Allison did a great job of picking out a nice variety. Yay!

A picture of some flowers in our front yard.
