They Grow Up So Fast

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

The garden is officially supplying produce.  YUM!!!  We have TONS of tomatoes ready to ripen and a few which are ready to eat.  They’re so delicious and sweet.  Tomatoes like this are why I almost always order sandwiches, burgers, etc without tomato.   I hate those tasteless, mealy things you find in most restaurants.  There are loads of serrano peppers, and interestingly the jalapenos are just now starting to develop.  The cucumbers will be ready in a week or so, and there’s going to be lots of them.  And lastly, the herbs are really growing strong.  We’ve only used the thyme in cooking, but the mint will make its way into a mojito here sometime soon.

Civic Vandalized

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

Well, it had to happen sometime.  🙁  My Civic was parked at the shop overnight.  When I came back in the morning the windows were busted out and the stereo stolen.  Time to call the insurance company.

Another Yummy Dinner

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Mmmm, a portobella mushroom upside down with an egg cracked inside, sprinkled with parmesan cheese and bread crumbs.  They turned out a little soggy, but they tasted good.  Next time I will cook the mushrooms first, then broil the eggs afterwards.
