Porsche 914 Event in Moab

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

I headed out to Moab, UT for a 914 event this weekend. Allison wasn’t able to join me, unfortunately. I met my friend, Rob, in Sacramento and we flew to Salt Lake City where another 914 guy, Eric, picked us up in his Porsche Cayenne. We stayed at his place overnight and headed out in the morning for Moab. We arrived in Moab about 6pm and I quickly started feeling ill. 30 minutes later I was in bed for the night. Kind of a bummer.

The next day I felt better, and we drove around to see some of the local sights. We explored some petrified dinosaur tracks then headed out to Dead Horse Point. We met up with the rest of the 914 group and headed out for the group dinner, then back to the hotel parking lot for the usual hang-out and chat.

Sunday we headed back towards SLC, but not until we drove through Arches National Park and hiked up to Delicate Arch. It wasn’t an easy hike, but it was totally worth it.

So, aside from not feeling well the first night, it was a great trip and it was really nice to meet up with old friends.

Siding and Primer

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

We had new redwood siding installed which matches the original siding.  It looks so great and I’m so pleased with how it looks.  We borrowed a paint sprayer from Allison’s parents and shot primer.  That machine makes things soooooo much easier.  Did the whole thing in about 2 hours, instead of the full day it would have taken to apply by brush.  It takes a long time to mask all the windows and vents, but it was worth it.
